Anger Management Courses
61The biology behind anger
I will start this anger management hub with a story. This is a very common example used on the net. Maybe not exactly the same story line but you get the general idea. You woke up and prepared yourself for work. While you were having breakfast, your daughter accidentally spilled a cup of coffee on your shirt. You got angry and scolded her for 15 minutes. She cried and your wife lashed out at you for being inconsiderate. Because you scolded her for 15 minutes, she missed the bus. So, you had to take her to school. Therefore, you were late for work and you felt angry at the situation. You lashed out at your colleagues and they all hated you.

So, because you lose control of your mind for that split second
when your daughter spilled a cup of coffee on your shirt, you offended
almost everyone. You seriously need to take some anger management
courses and lessons in controlling your temper
Anger is a natural emotion. It gives us the strength and energy we need to fight and defend ourselves in a fight or flight situation. Our ancestor needs this emotion because they need to survive. However, in the contemporary world, where we no longer need to hunt for food, excessive anger is definitely not necessary. In fact, too much of it can lead to confrontation, problems in life, work and relationship as well as the deterioration in the quality of life. Being angry all the time can potentially damage your physical health because it increases heart beat, blood pressure and hormone concentration.

Here are some basic anger management courses that you can apply to your situation
The best anger management technique is to keep your emotions in check before you start lashing out. In other words, you have to be aware when you are angry and put a stop to the emotion before it escalates. For example, when you feel angry, stop talking and leave the place to calm yourself down. Think before you speak!! Like in the story above, you could avoid all of that by simply forgiving your daughter, changing your shirt and move on.
A second method to approach anger is to know and to acknowledge that you have screwed up, calm down, apologize and move on. Back in the situation, you might have scolded your daughter. Then, you realized that you were angry. So, you apologize to her, give her a hug and move on.
A third anger management technique would be to learn relaxation techniques like breathing or meditation. These exercises help keep your emotions in check. Besides that, learning positive psychology might also help. Change your pessimistic views into optimistic ones. When you are stuck in a traffic jam, listen to some music and wait patiently because there is nothing you can do about that.
There you have it! The 3 most basic anger management techniques. For additional information, you might want to search some self-help resources for people with anger management problems on the internet.
