Decorative Plates
69Protecting Decorative Plates
Decorative plates seem like a new concept to many of us. Before I wrote this hub, I asked my friend if he had heard of decorative plates before. His reply was: "Are they the plates that we use to eat...but slightly more colorful?" I couldn't contain my laughter at that point. Decorative plates are different from the regular ones. We put decorative plates around the interior of our house to make them look pretty and pleasing to the eyes of our visitors. They come with some really good designs and are usually theme specific, like Turkish decorative plates or Christmas decorative plates. Now, if you have some decorative plates at home, there are several things that you need to be aware of.
Firstly, you need to protect your decorative plates from fingerprints. Kids who are playing around the house and inquisitive visitors might take a look at the decorative plates, out of curiosity, and leave some undesirable fingerprints on the plates. That is why you have to be extra careful when you are buying decorative plates. Choose those that are made from metal, brass or marble to hide the fingerprints. When your visitors are not around, you can wipe them off.
Also, decorative plates are extremely fragile. It will be very costly to replace them if you break any of these plates by accident. So, the best way to handle this situation is still to avoid breaking any decorative plates in the first place. These are several suggestions that you might want to follow. First, place your decorative plates on a firm placeholder. A firm placeholder prevents decorative plates from falling when someone accidentally knocks over the plate. Next, choosing the right material will also help tremendously. For instance, metal decorative plates are less fragile than marble or glass decorative plates. Lastly, I guess the only other thing that you can do is preventing your kids from running around at home to prevent accidents from happening.
Using the tips above, you should be able to protect your decorative plates from fingerprints, wear and tear. So, take good care of the decorative plates that you have.
