Introduction to Exercise at Home

Thinking of a convenient way to exercise? You have definitely come to the right place. Sometimes, we have the wrong mindset. We thought that gyms are the only places for us to workout but this is no longer true. With the advent of technology and the introduction of isometric exercises, you can now exercise at home. Say goodbye to the annual gym or health club membership fee, which you might or might not use, and think in terms of exercise at home. In this hub, I am going to share with you three great ideas to help you start your exercise routine from the comfort of your own home.

Home Fitness Equipment

This is probably the conventional method to start exercising at home. if you are serious about exercising at home, you need to have all the necessary fitness equipment in place. Yes, you might need to spend a lot of money to acquire these fitness machine but it definitely saves you more in the long run since you do not need to pay annual gym membership fee anymore. The complete home fitness workout must cover your upper limbs, lower limbs and cardiovascular. Thus, I would highly suggest that you purchase several dumbbell sets, a fitness ball, a training mat, a good weight bench set and a thread mill. They will provide you with a full body workout.

Virtual Exercise

Yes, you heard it right: Virtual Exercise at Home! If you think game consoles like Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 are purely for kids and teenagers, you are dead wrong. Adults can make use of these game consoles as well to keep themselves fit and healthy. I will give several video game examples. Ever heard of the Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) franchise? If you have not, I will explain them to you. To get started in DDR, you will need a PS2 or a PS3 and a dance mat. Basically, you choose a song and dance accordingly. Your footsteps must be correct to achieve a good score. I can guarantee that you are going to sweat like a pony after one session of DDR. The dance moves are really invigorating. Next, we have the Wii console. On this console, you will get to play games like bowling, basketball, boxing or tennis using a wireless controller. This is more suitable for the older age group because it is not as invigorating as DDR.

Isometric Exercise

This is another form of exercise at home. Basically, this exercise works by moving the muscles without the accompanying movement of the skeletal joint. The main health benefit of isometric exercises is that they strengthen your muscle fibers, which means that you will not get a body like that of Arnold but your muscles would be naturally healthy. One good example would be a Plank yoga position where you attempt to hold it for 3 minutes.

There you go, the 3 different methods for exercise at home.
