Everybody loves desserts but the problem is everybody does not like the fat that comes with desserts. If you are watching your weight, you definitely have to be careful with the amount of calories that you have in your desserts because sometimes, desserts can have more calories than your main entree. However, it does not always have to be this way. You can have your meal and enjoy your desserts at the same time. In this article, I am going to provide you with some low fat dessert ideas.

1. As far as low fat desserts are concerned, fresh fruits are always the best bet. They are sweet, healthy, packed with vitamin and most importantly, they are low in fat..almost none at all.

2. Another great idea would be to use fresh fruits with shortcakes. There are many ready-made shortcakes in the supermarket. So, you can just use those. To add taste, you could add some whipped toppings to your shortcake but you have to make sure that the toppings are non-dairy.

3. Jellos are also a great addition to the recipe. You can make a fruit salad bowl with suger free jellos for a quick nice treat.

4, The traditional fruit and cheese platter will also make a good dessert. However, you want to make sure that you are use low fat cheese for this one.

5. Actually, desserts like chocolate cakes or pumpkin pies can also be a good source of low fat dessert. The key is the ingredients they use, mostly zero calorie sugar. There are countless low fat dessert recipes out there on the web. Do a bit of research and you shall find some good dessert recipes with zero calorie sugar.
