Muscle knot
72Msucle knot - Definition and Treatment
In my previous hub, I have talked about the usage of massage chair to ease back pain and to give your body a complete passive workout to improve blood circulation. A common term that came up in my previous hub was tight muscles. These tight muscles are also known as muscle knots. They are not confined to your back muscles. In fact, you can have muscle knots in almost every part of your body, especially in the back, shoulders and hips.
Muscle Knot Treatments
In this hub, I will try my best to explain what muscle knots are and some of the different treatment methods that you can use to ease your pain.
Muscle knots are spots of tension that you get on your body. They are painful especially when you try to move those body parts. People experience muscle knots differently and they are mostly affected by your dietary habits, previous illnesses that you have, your psychological conditions and the physical activities that you normally do.
There are different ways to treat muscle knots. Small muscle tension can simply be treated with a back rub or a neck rub. Of course, if you want to remove the source of tension, you might want to try therapeutic massage or some deep tissue massage, which goes to the source directly by appying pressure to the muscle knots repeatedly. There are a lot more indirect methods of treatment like adjusting the neck position, so on and so forth. But that is not all. Proponents of psychological treatment, those who believe that psychological tensions are the main cause of muscle knots, propose taking up relaxation techniques like exercise to ease muscle knots and doing something creative from time to time.
The different treatment methods I presented above is just a guide for you to make your decisions. There are various causes of muscle knots and all the treatments, to a certain degree, work. My best advice would be to choose one that works for you and suits your taste and preferences.
